      This book of readings in European history in the twentieth century is intended for all who may be interested in gaining some insight of the scope and understanding of the significance of the real revolution of our time--if by revolution is understood the tremendous transformations that European life has undergone during the brief span of less than two generations.       Three of these will be based on questions about the required readings. The fourth will be a book review of a book chosen from a reading list of works on European history not on our reading list that will be given out in class. There will be a number of ungraded writing assignments, ranging in length from a sentence to a page.
